A hilly village in Međimurje (Part 1)

Let me tell you about the place where I live. I will not reveal its name for now. Hopefully the scenes described and the bits of advice offered to those of you who will find yourselves here, will paint you a nice picture of it.

I live in a medium-sized village in the hilly part of the County of Međimurje which is the northernmost county of Croatia. It may sound silly but the thing I like most about my village is the clean air.

A hilly village in Međimurje (Part 2) Wintry joys or how to avoid getting stuck

Don’t get me wrong, I adore living in Međimurje but there are days when I would move house without a second of hesitation. Wintry conditions occasionally make roads hazardous for drivers in the hilly parts of Međimurje. That is why I am going to offer you some bits of advice.

Baška…the island of Krk

Baška stretches along the south-south-east coast of Krk and is divided by the island’s cliffs, and therefore you can enjoy the sun all day long. If you do not like the crowds, you will not find a better place in the summer days than Baška.

For those of you who enjoy peace and quiet, take some time and head for the surrounding hills and cliffs. When you reach a top, you will be rewarded with an amazing view over the coastal towns of Crikvenica, Selce and N.Vinodolski, as well as the desert islands towards the south.
